Senior management team

The SWEET Africa senior management team below combines strong complementary technical skills with vision, vigor, and practical expertise gained from experience working in Africa and western World . All key staff are African professionals, helping to contextualize the SWEET Africa , and contributing to long-term sustainability. The SWEET Africa team brings skills in working ,among the poor and vulnerable population , and with several diversed types of credible international funders and service delivery points, including primary health care centers, hospitals, and private-sector establishments. Experience at these levels further strengthen the SWEET Africa implementation and integration.

Michael Kintu

SWEET African Director

Michael Kintu (PhD) is an Economist,Educationist,Consultant, and African Civil Society Leader with close to a three decade-long experience in project management including successful designing and implementing community health, climate change adaption and mitigation, social entrepreneurship grant-funded projects.


Michael has initiated ,and headed successful service delivery and research projects, that were based on sucessful grant award project concepts; proposals , activities; detailed budgets; monitoring and evaluation tools; support supervision and on-job capacity building; and reporting of project results and achievement of activities and outputs; as well as repackaging of the results for dissemination to wider audiences .


Over the last Twenty years, Michael has raised over Three Million US Dollars via successful grant proposal awards for African Charity Agencies in Uganda, Rwanda, Liberia, and Southern Sudan, and has headed project teams that have successful accomplished project activities with USAID, UK based Positive Action for Children Fund, World Bank, Global Fund for AIDS, NIH and others.

Kakooza Suleiman

SWEET Africa Deputy Director

Kakooza Suleiman is a Medical Doctor (MD,MPH ) with speciality in Orthopedics and a Business Management Specialist (MBA), a project concepts designer, grants fund-raiser, and social entrepreneur passionate about helping the marginalized and suffering African children, girls, women, refugees, the elderly, and disabled.


Suleiman has worked in several Africa countries including working as a visiting lecturer in Tanzania, Kenya, Zambia, Ethiopia and Southern Sudan.


Suleiman has also the initiated the “Raising Against Orthopedic Disability in Uganda (RAOD)", a Ugandan Orthopedics Social Enterprise which has restored normal walking capacity for over 500 Road Accidents and Land Mine Leg Amputees in Northern Uganda and Southern Sudan.

Katumba Namukasa Silvia

Chairperson

Katumba Silvia is Professional Teacher , Infant Care Management Specialist, Consultant, and Social enterprenuar. She has facilitated the establishment of several Infant Care Centers in Uganda, Rwanda and Southern Sudan caring for the institutionalized orphans due to HIV/AIDS and children of conflict .


Silvia has also inspired the mobilization of Ugandan USA and Canadian Diasporas to support their Ugandan Old-age parents using a social enterprise model and provided consultancy services in the introduction of Hearing aids in the Ugandan Day care Centers .

Ssegirinya Tonny

Media Persuasive Specialist

Ssegirinya Tonny is responsible for all the graphic persuasive massages contained on this website, and in the African print media. To Tonny, Computer Graphic is just the right media of integrating art and the African Development Challenges together by using modern technologies to create different forms of opportunities for Africans to turn into social enterprises.


To this end, using his camera and skills in PhotoShop, Illustrator and InDesign , Tony has and continues to identify and repackage various scenarios of the African sector-wide Development challenges , along with game-charging opportunities and corresponding social enterprises- aimed at persuading uptake by Africa Social Entrepreneurs.


By making Photographs talk louder than the SWEET Africa words , Tonny ‘s grahic media persuasion is contributing to the SWEET Africa mission of creating African social entrepreneurs that will lead to a Poverty and Hunger thriving Africa .
